Map of Florida highlighting Fort Lauderdale

Being open to go where God wants you to go sometimes means to stay right where you are.  That has been the case for us until this past fall when God made it clear to us that we should move to Fort Lauderdale, FL specifically for the purpose of joining Fort Lauderdale Baptist Church.  The church was started in May of 2006 by a friend I went to school and college with, Ryan Price.  We visited twice in the past and I built and maintain their website.  My contract at PCC will be complete by the end of July at which time I hope to have an Oracle Database Administration job lined up in South Florida.  We are excited about the opportunities we will have, but a bit overwhelmed by the details of the process.

To be clear we are not leaving because of any policy, decision, or person.  We were called not driven.  We have enjoyed our time in Pensacola immensely and and will miss the family, many friends, and how we have been able to serve here.

If you have any contacts in the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area that know of any openings for an Oracle DBA, please show them my CV (its like a résumé) and let us know.  A greater possibility is that you know someone looking for a house to buy in Pensacola.  Our house will be on the market soon, so let us know as soon as possible if you know someone interested.  We have a three bedroom two bathroom brick house in a nice subdivision in the Ensley area.  The house was built in 2002 and is on a cul-de-sac.  We think it’s great, but then we did buy it.  Here is the Google maps view of our house and the Escambia County Property Appraisers view.

It may not be on the mountain’s height,
Or over the stormy sea;
It may not be at the battle’s front,
My Lord will have need of me;
But if by a still, small voice He calls,
To paths that I do not know,
I’ll answer, dear Lord, with my hand in Thine,
I’ll go where You want me to go.

I Thessalonians 5:24 – 25 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.  Brethren, pray for us.

Update: Our house will be on the market tomorrow.  Here is the video.
