Who Won?

This election was a conservative victory more than a Republican victory.  Sure many Republicans won, but more were true conservatives and not just acting like conservatives to get elected, at least that is our hope.  This is not a contrast of the 2008 election.  As Rush Limbaugh said today, “…conservatism did not lose in 2008 because conservatism was not on the ballot in 2008.”   2008 was liberal extremist vs. liberal light both wrapped in conservative rhetoric calculated to improve their electability.  2010 included more prominent candidates that actually believe in conservative principles.  Now that they are in office, let’s pray for them and hold them to their word.  Let’s also keep the trend going in 2012.

I just finished reading Sean Hannity’s book Conservative Victory.  I’m glad I was able to read it, but it is not a must read.  I did find this quote he gave from former House majority leader Dick Armey interesting.

I’ve always wondered why Republicans insist on acting like Democrats in hopes of retaining political power, while Democrats act like us in order to win.

With Republicans projected to gain 62 seats in the house, eight seats in the Senate, and six governorships in the election this week, we need to make sure that those that campaigned as conservatives act like conservatives in office.  For reference in the 1994 Republican Revolution the pre-election ratios were about the same and the Republicans gained 54 House seats and eight Senate seats.
