In II Samuel 6:3-8 Uzzah touches the Ark of the Covenant when it is being transported in a cart.  Even though he apparently does not know that this is forbidden, God strikes him dead for the trespass.  King David who at this point had just made two seperate inquires of the Lord reguarding battle strategy doesn’t even understand why God did this.  If such a thing can happen here when God’s people are trying to follow the will of God, couldn’t the same thing happen to us?  What are we doing that violates God’s word?  What good things are we doing that are not being done in the right manner?  It is a reminder to me that I should read and study God’s word more and as David did later in the I Chronicles 15 narrative do things God’s way and not my way.
