What will it take for Repentance?

I find it interesting that the prophet Jonah when the storm was come  up did not tell the people of the ship to turn the ship around, but instead ot cast him into the sea.  Apparently he saw even death without repentance before God as preferable to obeying God’s command to go to Ninevah.  This is further evidenced by the three days he spent in the fish before chapter two says “Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God”.  What an amazing longsuffering God we have.
